Christian Education

CHESAPEAKE CHRISTIAN SCHOOL
Born out of a vision to see our children equipped to live full lives for Christ, Chesapeake Christian School has been assisting parents in this task since 1980. Our school began as a small pilot program for kindergarten children and has since grown to include kindergarten through eighth grades. Our goal is to see each child come to know Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, to know His will for their lives, and to walk in a manner worthy of His calling. While maintaining high academic standards, our aim is to train them to think and express themselves creatively and effectively. This is accomplished through a biblically based educational program that combines traditional classroom methods with a practical, project-oriented application of the skills being taught. Equally important to the success of this ministry is the involvement of parents who are committed to Christ and His vision for their children and for Chesapeake Community Church.

THE CHRISTIAN DISCIPLESHIP SCHOOL
The Christian Discipleship School, CDS, was birthed in September 1985 as a pilot program for high school students. Our vision for the CDS is to provide high school students with a program by which they can grow in their walk and service to the Lord Jesus. The thrust of the CDS is four-fold: Christian character development, academics, Bible study, and Christian service. It is designed for the spiritually committed students who are serious in their pursuit of God.

OUR CHRISTIAN HOMESCHOOLING MINISTRY
The home school oversight ministry was developed to provide support for the parents of Chesapeake Community Church who have been called by God to educate their children at home. The purpose of the program is to ensure that all home schooling families provide regular and thorough instruction. The support group aims to provide and encourage healthy relationships among home schooling children, to share ideas as teachers, and to support one another as parents and educators who have a passion for Christ, a vision for their children and a commitment to Chesapeake Community Church.

THE CHESAPEAKE SCHOOL OF EQUIPPING
The Chesapeake School of Equipping was formed to meet the growing request of adult members for more in-depth discipleship and training. Through courses in Systematic Theology, Old Testament Survey, Evangelism, Leadership, etc., participants grow in their knowledge of God, His principles, and their understanding and ability to handle more effectively His Word. They are, thus, better equipped for service. Courses are offered during the year on Saturdays and evenings throughout the week
